The Community Pharmacy COVID-19 Lateral Flow Device (LFD) Distribution Service improves access to testing by making test kits readily available at community pharmacies. The tests are for asymptomatic people to identify positive cases in the community and break the chain of transmission.
Pharmacy contractors who meet the criteria can sign up to provide the Advanced Service, which will work alongside existing Test and Trace coronavirus (COVID-19) testing routes.
For full details about the service, including eligibility criteria, read the Community Pharmacy COVID-19 Lateral Flow Device Distribution Service Advanced Service Specification [PDF: 276KB].

You can order test kits from Alliance Healthcare.
Kits will be supplied free of charge to pharmacies providing the service as part of your standard deliveries from the wholesaler.
Initial demand for test kits will be difficult to predict. You will be able to order and re-order appropriate quantities of kits in line with the local demand, up to an initial weekly order limit.
To comply with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) product recall provisions, you must keep a record of:
- the lot number of each LFD carton received
- the name of the supplying wholesaler
- the invoice or delivery note number
The quantities of test kits ordered and supplied to the public will be monitored as part of the post-payment verification process.
Pharmacy contractors who meet the criteria can claim payment for this service weekly through the MYS portal.
In line with the Drug Tariff, we must receive your claim by the 5th day of the following month.
We will make payments for the service with your normal monthly payment for NHS Pharmaceutical Services. The payments will be separately itemised on your FP34 Schedule of Payments.
Visit the MYS page for more information about the portal and to log in.
