Depending on your circumstances, you’ll receive either a Total Reward Statement (TRS) or an Annual Benefit Statement (ABS) each year.
If you receive a TRS, this includes an ABS which you can find by selecting the ‘NHS Pension’ tab.
To find out more about Total Reward Statements, Annual Benefit Statements and which one you'll receive, visit What type of statement you’ll get.
Statements are updated annually. The latest update took place in August 2025.
We recommend downloading and saving a copy of your statement for your own records.
If you are affected by McCloud, your ABS will look different from August 2025. For more information on these changes, visit the ‘ABS for McCloud affected members’ page.
If your employer uses Electronic Staff Record (ESR)
You can use this to access your statement.
Log in to TRS using ESR
You can get help with accessing your statement via ESR or contact your local ESR administrator for help.
Information for non-ESR users (previous access via Gov.UK Verify)
If you do not have access to ESR and are actively contributing to the NHS Pension Scheme, you should have received a letter to provide you with your registration information for our new digital platform, My NHS Pension.
If you've accessed your statement in the last 12 months via Gov.UK Verify you should have already received a letter asking you to register for My NHS Pension. GOV.UK Verify closed on 30 March 2023.
If you have not received your letter, or you're a deferred member without access to ESR, use our 'Contact Us' form and select the service 'My NHS Pension Registration'.
