The Dental statistics – England 2023/24 publication is an official statistic release. It will be produced with full consideration of the standards set out in the Code of Practice for Statistics.
This release is the first in the series to be produced by the NHSBSA. Previous releases were produced by NHS England (formerly NHS Digital) and can be found on the NHS England webpage.
It is intended to provide a national view of provision of NHS dental services for the use of policy makers, the public, and other users.
This release will include information on the number of patients seen by an NHS dentist, as well as NHS dental activity presented down to dental contract level. It will also include data on clinical treatments, orthodontic activity, patient eligibility and charges, and dental workforce. Further breakdowns will be available by regional, local authority (LA), and integrated care board (ICB) level. Workforce data will also be provided down to sub-integrated care board (SICB) level.
In line with our Revisions and corrections policy (PDF: 180KB), all data can be updated when new information becomes available that relates to a period already published.
