It’s important to let us know straight away if your circumstances change as this may affect the amount of Social Work Bursary (SWB) you're entitled to.
If you’ve been overpaid, we’ll tell you about repayment options. If you're due more, we’ll add the extra amount to your next SWB payment.
You can tell us about most changes through your MyFunding account. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students can use MyFunding to:
- change your personal details, such as your name, address and telephone number
- change your bank details
- tell us if you’ve interrupted or withdrawn from your course
- upload evidence to support your existing SWB

For some changes, you may need to contact us directly. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students need to contact us to tell us about:
- if your course attendance changes
- if you change university
- if your residency status changes
Changes affecting postgraduate students
Interrupting or withdrawing from your course
You need to tell us as soon as possible if you’re interrupting your course temporarily or withdrawing permanently. We’ll hold any further bursary payments to stop you from being overpaid.
You can tell us about this using your MyFunding account.
Once your university confirms your withdrawal date, we'll do a withdrawal calculation. If you’ve been overpaid, we’ll write to you about repayment options. If you're due more, we’ll pay the extra amount to your bank account as soon as possible.
You’ll not automatically get your capped SWB place back if you leave your course and return in a new academic year.
